Want to migrate to Australia?
Australian migration is the process by which people move to Australia to settle. To apply for a visa you must be outside of Australia and hold citizenship or permanent residency of another country. There are many different visa options available to those who wish to migrate to Australia. The first step in applying for Australian Immigration is deciding on an occupation, as this will determine the course of action that needs to be taken.
Skilled migration– This involves having reasons such as working towards economic growth through work experience and education, which benefits both the interests of those migrating and those already living in Australia. There are two types: 1)skills assessed prior (for overseas applicants), and 2) skills assessed upon arrival (for applicants holding a valid visa).
Both of these categories: Temporary and permanent:
Temporary– This is the most common and involves applying for a visa, living and working in Australia for a period of time; you can apply to stay on as an Australian Resident at any point. Entitlements include Family reunification(allowing spouses, children etc… to come with the applicant), access to Medicare (Australian national health service), full or partial social security benefits, right of return (if an ex-resident of Australia but has not been absent from Australia for more than two years).
Permanent – This option only applies if you have no relatives in Australia other than those included in your application. It involves fulfilling market needs by gaining eligibility through skills recognized which are then assessed through points allocated on the basis of experience, education and language. Entitlements include further visa options (such as spouse visa), family reunification, access to Medicare (Australian national health service) full or partial social security benefits.
Migration to Australia is an expensive process; therefore it is important to weigh up your options carefully before deciding which route you wish to take. It may be the case that applying for temporary migration first would be beneficial in terms of saving money while building skills.
A student visa is an endorsement that is appended to a passport which allows foreign students to study at another country’s qualified educational institutions.
A partner visa, as the name suggests is a visa required for spouse/partner who wish to migrate to a new country.
The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa (Super Visa) is a temporary resident permit that allows parents and grandparents to stay for up to 2 years in Australia per visit.
